Day 288: What You Sow You Reap!

An Indian poem goes like this; Yesterday is but a dream, And tomorrow only a vision, Yesterday is but a dream, And tomorrow only a vision, But today well lived makes, Every yesterday a dream of happiness, And every tomorrow a vision of hope, Look well therefore to this day.

What you plant will germinate. If you plant a cedar in a favorable soil, it will grow to a long beautiful tree. That is how it is made to become. What you sow, watered and well-nourished get manifested.

With that in mind, I want to encourage you to sow seeds of positivity. You want to become confident? Sow seeds – positive thoughts, empowering words and actions – that boost your self-confidence, improves your relationships and that make you a better person,

When I started my journey of building my courage and confidence, I realized how my early days of life affected my confidence levels. I analyzed how my relationship with my family was and how it affected my interaction with the outside world. I would not say it was very good upbringing, but discovering what could have affected my confidence, I was convinced was the starting point.

I will encourage you to do the same. List all past events, people and circumstances which have affected your confidence. Understand how they did affect you. You cannot fight an enemy you do not know; it all starts there; know the enemy.

Having done that, I had to look inside of me to understand how my attitudes, my beliefs and actions are and how they have created my life so far. I had now to deliberately choose empowering thoughts and actions to align with the person I want to become, a more confident person.

You can be confident either way, either you are an introvert or an extrovert as they love defining people. Being confidence does not certainly mean being loud and gregarious, to me being confident is facing obstacles with courage and energy. For me, being quietly confident is such a huge reward.

The Lord is my light and my salvation—
    whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 27:1 NIV

Final point, obligate yourself to do those things that make you more confident. We all experience fear and moments when we are not confident and sure of the next move. But choose not to just talk about reasons why you are not confident and do nothing about it. Do not be one of such kind of people. Empower yo’self! Even when you feel anxious. Let fear have the last word.
