Day 238: How To Take Action Without Procrastinating.

Today I want to share something I am a victim of. A kind of overwhelming that paralyze me whenever I want to make a huge move! Maybe I am not alone, that is why I am sharing here. I am being vulnerable.

The main reason why most people (myself included) procrastinate about something that they consider tremendously important to them is that they consider it so vital that it overwhelms them and paralyzes the urge to take actions. I am a culprit to this. Let me explain.

When I consider something as my only big chance to bring my life to a whole new level, I tread very carefully. This treading unfortunately, quickly turns into procrastination. When you fear ruining the opportunity, it prevents you from taking action. What a tragedy! Do you experience the same thing?

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10

What am I doing to counter this trend – and what can you do too?

If you find yourself making the same mistake, ask yourself what is the end result of putting off certain tasks. Isn’t procrastinating going to lead you to the exact thing you are afraid of – if you lose the opportunity?

For example, if you were to meet a famous person, you will certainly hold them to a high regard, but certainly, you will not act like a crazy person around them. That will put them off. It is the same with your goals. Manage your attitude towards them so you won’t be overwhelmed by them.

Your goals might be so important that they will change your life. However, this will happen if you keep calm and have a cool head around them otherwise, they will overwhelm you and you will fail take necessary actions.
